Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

Check out the all new locations page for Silent Night, Deadly Night on Set-Jetter.com!

As a true 80's horror kid, nothing seemed more controversial as the release of Silent Night, Deadly Night.  By the time I got to see the film on video, it was apparent the marketing was better than the film itself, which is now a given for most current films.  But in revisiting the movie, it is a pretty solid film and worth the watch.

Unlike 99% of my posts here, I have not been to these locations but used some Google map images for reference.  But as this is the 30th anniversary of the film, I thought I should do some work on it for fans.   I'm not 100% complete on these locations, so will add to them as I get to them and find them.  Below are the links to the sequels which I have set-jetted before:

Silent Night Deadly Night

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 3: Better Watch Out

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 4:Initiation

Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 5: The Toy Maker

Much of the film was shot in and around Heber City, Utah.  The unique mountain landscape can be seen in a few of the driving scenes....

Next are some rather random places appearing in the background during driving scenes, such as this one....

The steakhouse is gone, but the small structure seen in the background is still there....

I'm sad to report the orphanage building is long gone.  If it was still there, I would have made a better effort to get down there to visit it while I'm at the Sundance Film Festival.  I did include various shots of the spot where it was located and the church, shed, and other houses surrounding are still there....

    1. in Heber City, the police station is at 25 N Main Street, Ira's Toys was at 151 N Main Street, and the church across from the orphanage (which is now torn down) is at 3450 South 3500 West.

  3. I have pieces of the brick from that old building and an old metal guard rail that was laying in the road. The image that shows Santa walking towards you is one of the pieces that I have. An old bus stop, I think.
