Sneakers (1992)

Check out the all new SNEAKERS page at SET-JETTER.COM

ORIGINAL ENTRY:

One of my favorites from the laserdisc era (!) was Sneakers.  Needless to say, it hasn't aged all that well simply because of the technology advancements, but it is still a good film and probably in need of a sequel/remake.

The opening scene is shot on the Universal Studios backlot in the famous town square area.  It has been burnt down and been rebuilt many times over the years....

Shot mostly in San Francisco, I happened to have a few pics of some locations from a visit.  Nothing screen-specific, but maybe I can do that on a future trip.  Here the Bay Bridge is featured prominently in a scene....

Can't have a SF movie without a shot of Alcatraz...

Back to LA for some scenes, here in one of the downtown tunnels...

And finally the Playtronics building is out in Simi Valley....

I've never met Robert Redford, but have been to the Sundance Film Festival many times and have seen him introducing the opening night films....
