Duel (1971)

Check out the all new DUEL page at SET-JETTER.COM

I have seen Steven Spielberg's first film, Duel, a number of times and it still holds up really well, maybe more-so in our era of road rage.   While set-jetting some other locales, I decided to check out some of the main locations seen in the film.  There are quite a few Duel fan location websites out there, but would like to thank Then & Now Movie Locations for their page on this film.

First up is the pre-credit house....

Next is the freeway route taken during the credits....

The first gas station he stops at is no longer there, but the surrounding area is still identifiable...

The site of "Chuck's Cafe".....

The scene with the school bus takes place at the often photographed Soledad Canyon Road....

This railroad stop has actually moved a bit, but is still in the same general vicinity....

Sally's Snakearama gas station is thankfully no longer (or ever was) at this spot....

This spot where he rounds the hill hasn't changed at all....

More of the same spot where he hides out by the train tracks....

The spot where he swerves from the road closed signs....

The highway that runs adjacent to the railroad....

The area where he slams his car in the hill just before the cliffhanger finale....
