Earth Girls Are Easy (1988)

A silly late-80's video favorite, Earth Girls Are Easy was a strange follow up for Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis (who also was in Beetlejuice and The Accidental Tourist that same year!).  And you can never go wrong with Julie Brown.  Check out Jenny Tonic's Vintage Pop Culture blog for more fun and for documenting these locales!

First up, Geena's house in the film, which unfortunately was hidden by some monster trucks at the time of the visit....

I'm guessing this is the Paradise Cove pier for the "Because I'm A Blond" segment, what do you guys think?

The gas station is long gone, but you can recognize the building across the street, now a CVS (surprise, surprise)....

Across the street in the other direction is this building....

Randy's Donuts makes an appearance....

A frequent film location, Circus Liquor...

The hospital looks surprisingly the same....

And finally, the "Cadillac" building...

  5. Ah yes, I remember when full serve leaded gas was 93.9. Signs didn't need more than the two digits and the .9, and before that, you didn't need a catalytic converter or a computer to run your car! In fact when they came out with that crappy unleaded fuel you had to put in an additive so the valves wouldn't clatter. Worst decision ever to get rid of leaded gas and put smog controls on cars.
