Halloween II (1981)

Check out the all new HALLOWEEN II page at SET-JETTER.COM

With 2013 being the 35th anniversary of my all time favorite, Halloween, I wanted to update my filming locations for the series, which have been scattered throughout my blog.  I will update these pages as I add new locations and cast or crew.

For other locations from the Halloween series, click on the link below:

The well-regarded sequel stayed close to its roots picking up moments after the first film ended.   Many locations make return appearances in the film, the first being the Doyle house where Myers is now shot seven (!) times, but out the front balcony instead of the back....

The neighbor in this house tells Loomis he's been trick or treated to death tonight...

The Doyle house makes a return appearance to pick up Laurie Strode and her new wig....

The Wallace house also returns as the sheriff identifies his daughter.  As most fans know, Dana Carvey makes his first film appearance here...

Of course, the Myers house also makes a brief appearance...

The film opens in the alley behind the Elrod house...

 The "X" is still there!

Sean Clark was able to get Mrs. Elrod's cutting board!

Looking for Myers, Dr. Loomis and Sheriff Brackett drive by this house, which is just a couple houses up from the Doyle residence.  The interiors of this house was used for the Wallace house in the first film....

The Elrod house actually faces the same street where the Myers house was originally located.   This street makes a reappearance as Loomis spots poor Ben Tramer in a mask...

Ben doesn't look both ways and crosses the street...

Kersting Court in Sierra Madre makes its first Halloween appearance as Karen takes her friend to work....

This short scene is followed by Michael bumping into "boombox boy" and then walking around the corner to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital.   The scene was re-enacted by the actual actors in the movie, Dick Warlock and his son, Lance....

The elementary school makes a reappearance both inside and out...

The loading dock of the hospital...

And finally, Haddonfield Memorial Hospital.  The building has changed quite a bit over the years, but parts of it are still recognizable.  The location is a veterans hospital and don't like people taking pictures.  In my quick visit, I was stopped by an employee, so for future visitors, be quick!

    1. It is Building #10 at the VA Hospital, 16111 Plummer Street. The building is on the west side of the campus, the east side of the building was used.

  2. The interior hospital shots were supposedly a composition of a couple abandoned ones around LA. I've never really gotten confirmation though on exactly which ones.

  3. One was Morningside Hospital in Inglewood.

Several scenes for ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ were also filmed there and you can see that the interiors are identical. In fact in the background of one scene it looks like the part of the hospital where Loomis and Laurie end up at the climax of the film.

    1. ALSO, in "V" the Final Battle, released in 1984, that Hospital was used for scenes at the "LA Medical Center". The EXACT same interior used in Halloween 2...

    2. Great find!

I’ve been looking for films and tv shows that used this hospital and only knew of ‘Fast Times at Ridgemont High’ and ‘10 to Midnight’, both of which only use it briefly. It’s great to see some more of it in this, including some of the areas from Halloween II.

If you come across any more then please let us know.

  4. I've looked for Alice's house til I've gone crazy. I've mainly been searching in South Pasadena because if I'm not mistaken this was an added scene by John Carpenter, so I naturally assumed he would use S. Pas. I'm curious if you have any idea where it is? I've asked several places, including OHMB, to no avail. My only clue is the cinderblock wall in the backyard with are common in the Pasadena area for backing up to an alley.

    1. You are correct, it was an added scene by John. However, I heard it was in the West Hollywood area through third-hand of the actress in the scene.
